Roof Top Tents
Mounting an RTT, made easy
Ready to upgrade?
Roof Top Tents were originally designed in Italy in the 1950's and made popular in Australia, which makes sense - who would want to sleep on the ground down unda? Well, after thinking about it, if you had the choice between an elevated, waterproof tent, with a built in mattress, and the hard ground, which would you choose?
Why BillieBars?
Don't ask us, ask our customers. We hear everyday that one of the main reason people chose BillieBars as their bed rack is so they can KEEP THEIR RTT BELOW THE CAB , improving gas mileage. It also allows them to pull into a garage (either private residence or public). Oh - and you can keep your tonneau cover.

Since our crossbars are wider, thicker and consequently stronger than any other crossbar on the market, you're most likely going to need our HD clamps. They're form fitted to BillieBars dimensions, and utilize the RTT's pre-existing hardware. The only RTT's that will clamp to BillieBars out of the box is the iKamper with either the 1.0 or 3.0 mounting clamps.
What you May Need
A popular add on is the 3.5" tent risers (it adds, you guessed it, 3.5" of height from the bed rail). They add some clearance to our low profile system and for some people it's worth it - adding more room to grab stuff from their bed, or providing enhanced rear window visibility. For this add on, you'll just use the existing RTT hardware. If you have a Yakima tent, these will be mandatory as they accommodate their narrower clamps (featured above/right).

Truck + RTT + BillieBars = Happiness. It's that simple. Because at the end of the day, does it get any better than a good night sleep in nature?
